With over 40 years of collective experience in the telecommunications and dark fibre industries, the team behind FibreconX recognised substantial gaps in the market, where customer needs were not being met. Historically, Australia’s dark fibre assets have been concentrated in an existing national network duct, with the majority of all fibre networks utilising the same duct, not optimised and in competitive conflict with retail customers. Dark fibre customers have had limited genuine choice in-market, making them susceptible to high or unpredictable pricing, archaic customer service and processes. This, combined with capacity limitations, ultimately provide little scalability to support future growth requirements.
To offer our clients the commercial terms and customer experience they were looking for, we needed to deliver an holistic and integrated solution to dark fibre product, services and infrastructure – one which we could control and operate exclusively for the benefit of our customers. FibreconX thus emerged with a commitment to delivering a new high capacity, high performance dark fibre network, purpose-built to solve the needs of our customers and industry.

FibreconX is the first alternative duct network to be designed and constructed in Australia in many years. The network is constructed with our own brand-new high performance, high capacity dark fibre, linking data centres with hundreds of kilometres of dedicated duct, built and operational with full diversity between all major Data Centres across Sydney. Rapid expansion is also currently underway across all major regions in Australia.

The FibreconX network has been designed for the shortest and fastest path between data centres through our new custom-built duct. In some instances paths are reduced by up to 30%, vastly improving speed and latency when taking advantage of advanced, high-bandwidth cloud applications.
